These Microdots are suspended in a resin that once it has been applied and dried, (touch dry in a few minutes, fully cured in 24 hours), is very difficult to remove. Also included within the pack is a set of holographic labels, which indicates that the product is security marked.
The Microdots are barely visible to the naked eye, yet each one contains a unique identification number as well as a free-phone telephone number to the International Security Register database. Microdots should be applied to all items of value, including, watches, jewellery, mobile phones, TV’s, video’s, vehicles, bicycles etc, the list is endless.
The resin in which the Microdots are suspended adheres the product to the customer’s goods. This resin contains a UV trace and using a black light, (ultra violet torch), the Police are able to quickly identify that the goods have been security marked with Microdots enabling them to trace the rightful owner and secure a conviction.
Once the police locate a Microdot, they merely contact the database using the 0800 Free phone number and quote their identification along with the unique Micro-Tag number as shown on that particular Microdot. The details of the rightful owner of the goods are then provided to them.

The database is Loss Prevention Certification Board registered and maintained by the Retaina Group. It is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
