Thieves crash mobile home into private house
Posted on October 14th 2008
Two men who stole a mobile home in the US town of Springfield, Oregon, crashed the vehicle into a house in the early hours of Monday (September 13th) morning, it has been reported.
KVAL.com reported that the pair stole a mobile home but became known to police after it hit another car and failed to stop.
The police spotted the pair driving the vehicle and chased them, but when the thieves crashed into a house the chase moved onto foot.
It is not common to have a caravan used as a getaway vehicle but the theft of one is certainly a concern for most owners.
With more and more modcons being added to caravans today it will be no surprise that they are becoming attractive commodities.
Caravan insurance, however, can protect owners' finances in the event of a theft by providing financial assistance to help the owner replace the vehicle.
