Teenager dies in caravan blaze
A teenager was found dead in a caravan parked outside her family home after it had suffered a massive fire.
Dying from smoke inhalation and not burns, the student was found by fire crews that were called to the fire in Sydney, Australia.
Inspector Brett Ryan from St Andrews fire station told the Sydney Morning Herald: "It was only a small caravan, an aluminium pop-top caravan, which adds to the intensity of the fire."
It was not reported by the newspaper how the fire began but the teenager, who did not always live at home with her family, would often stay in the caravan at night times.
While such tragic circumstances can never be prepared for, there are some measures which could be taken to minimise other forms of heartache in the event of an accident.
Caravan insurance can offer financial protection for caravan owners who are unlucky enough to have their caravan damaged or destroyed by fire or most other natural disasters.
A crash can also cost caravan owners thousands of pounds but can be protected against with caravan insurance.
