Caravan Insurance News: Static caravan destroyed by fire
Posted on December 04th 2009
A fire in Oaktree Park, Hampshire on Wednesday, has destroyed a static caravan. Such was the ferocity of the fire that it took 10 fire fighters from Hightown fire station to tackle before the blaze was extinguished.
At this time it is unclear what the exact cause of the fire was but fire crews believe that it was caused by an overloaded electrical socket. Further investigation will be carried out by the fire service, which will determine the exact cause for the fire.
A spokesman from the fire serviced warned that: "You should never overload sockets by using several adaptors in one socket, or by using several high-rated appliances in a multi-socket block. This can cause the socket to overheat and catch fire."
