Scarborough caravan park flooded again
Posted on September 08th 2008
A caravan park in Scarborough was deluged with flood water over the weekend, it has been reported.
Holiday makers at Clayton Bay Holiday Park in Scarborough had to move their cars several times to avoid the rising floodwater in scenes reminiscent of the July 2007 floods.
Flood water can cause serious damage to a caravan relatively quickly, as once the water enters the vehicle, it can spread across the floor, damaging cookers, clothes and any other items left on low-down shelves.
Caravan insurance however, can protect an owner from the financial burden of replacing damaged items, including the caravan itself.
Not only do modern caravans now cost several thousands of pounds but owners are becoming increasingly likely to bring with them more creature comforts such as a new television, DVD player or laptop.
Such items present an opportunity to thieves as well as being a high financial risk in the case of flooding.
