Savings let Santa know whos naughty
Children promising that they have been good this year might be let down by a quick look in the piggy bank.
Up to £40 million in pocket money has been withheld this year to punish naughty children.
Two in every five secondary school aged pupils have had up to three weeks money docked, amounting to almost £9 each.
Steve Shore, head of banking at Abbey, says: "Parents have long since wielded pocket money as a powerful weapon with which to influence their children's conduct.
"Being on their best behaviour can clearly pay real dividends for Britain's motivated minors."
Caravan and motorhome owners are aware that children need to be encouraged to save regularly to pay for their trips and holidays throughout the year.
