Repair work keeps caravan fans waiting
Repair work at a caravan park in Banffshire will delay it opening this year.
Many caravan sites are closed during the winter months, but as spring approaches, they will be steadily opening their doors for business.
But anyone planning a stay at the popular Banff Links caravan park will have to wait.
Aberdeenshire council has said that work on the sewerage system is ongoing and that the site will not be available until March 28th a week after the official start of the holiday season.
"Urgent essential repairs are being carried out to the drainage and sewage system which will not be completed in time to open on Good Friday," the council said in a statement.
"For the health and safety and comfort of all our customers, members of the public will not be allowed to access the park for the duration of the work."
The news will come as a blow to regular visitors, but the work is essential and will no doubt improve the experience of people staying there.
The bill for the repair work will run to almost £200,000.
