Redundancy pays for Caravanning Career
Posted on March 06th 2009
A Swindon man, who was made redundant following the downfall of Honda, has taken the news lightly by investing his money in a new venture that he hopes will protect his family’s future.
After working as a production manager at the plant for 16 years he has made a complete career change by buying a franchise for caravan repairs, which will include cosmetic repairs and fixing any damaged panelling.
He said “I was not afraid of losing my job at Honda. I saw this as an opportunity to do something for myself and see a bit more of my family”
The man, who has purchased the franchise covering the Swindon and Gloucester area, feels that this is going to be a successful business. Each year 40,000 brand new caravans are sold and with the recession continuing this year, more people will want cheaper holidays so will want any damage made to their caravans repaired.
Asda Walmart in Swindon will be launching the man’s new found business, Caravan Medic, on 21st March.
