Overturned caravan causes rush hour tailback
Posted on August 07th 2008
A caravan overturned yesterday on a Cambridgeshire slip road, causing major tailbacks during rush hour, it has been reported.
The incident happened as the motor home was being pulled up to a major road near Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire, at 7am.
A male driver was said to be pulling the caravan but as his car approached a slip road the motor home overturned on to its side, injuring both him and two young girls also in the car at the time.
Thankfully there were no serious injuries, but the accident has highlighted the importance of obtaining caravan insurance before taking a motor home on the road, as even in calm weather conditions, and with all safety precautions taken, accidents can occur.
As well as damage to the motor home and its contents, the incident caused rush hour tailbacks, as the police and recovery equipment vehicles were still at the scene an hour and a half later.
