Older, greener car choices
Used car dealers are beginning to display the environmental credentials for their vehicles.
Motorists are much more aware of the link between a higher VED tax disc and higher carbon dioxide emissions, and this is reflected in the choice of used vehicle as well as new ones.
Kirk Fletcher, managing director of Experian's automotive division, points out: "New car dealers are required by law to display the CO2 emission and vehicle excise duty information on all their new stock.
"Customers are much more aware of the effect these factors have on the environment and their pockets, so they are asking more questions."
With green issues shooting up the agenda, domestic holidays are set to become more popular.
Caravans and motor homes offer Brits an environmentally-friendly alternative to flying.
