North-east Caravan Park of the Year winners announced
Three caravan parks in the north-east of the UK have been recognised and named as winners in the Caravan Park of the Year category in the North East England Tourism Awards 2007.
Seafield Caravan Park has been awarded first place, for offering caravanners the opportunity to explore the countryside and discover the beauty of the Northumberland coast.
It has also previously been awarded the gold award from the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence, considered one of the highest accolades in English tourism.
Haggerston Castle was awarded silver, with its five-star holiday park and outstanding facilities. Set around several lovely lakes, it is also surrounded by award-winning landscaped gardens.
Customer service manager of Haggerston Castle Esther Ward, who also won the gold award for outstanding customer service, spoke to the Berwick Advertiser, saying: "I feel very privileged to work in this environment as our guests are mainly families who look forward to coming on holiday and who place their trust in us to provide the best holiday experience possible."
Ord House Country Park was awarded the bronze accolade in the caravan park category. It is found in a forty acre tree lined country park in north Northumberland, about one mile away from the Scottish Border.
