New caravan park given go-ahead

A new caravan park in Lancashire has been given planning approval from the local council.

The new park at Bryars Farm in Lea Lane, Preston, will be able to host 17 permanent caravans alongside eight temporary pitches and will be used exclusively to provide holiday accommodation, reports the Lancashire Evening Post.

It was the second time that the site's owners had applied for planning permission for the caravan park after the first application for 36 pitches was rejected in 2006 but the subsequent smaller application has now been fully approved.

As well as the pitches, the park at the farm will also include a number of other buildings including an office and reception building, a waste treatment plant and a play area.

The plans also feature improved access to the site and a reduced speed limit of 40mph could be introduced to the area as a traffic calming measure.
