Motorhomes in vogue
Posted on August 14th 2008
Motorhomes and caravans have been defying the credit crunch as year-on-year sales show rises in dramatic contrast to the gloomy economic outlook.
With the 8,367 motorhomes sold in 2006 increasing rapidly to almost 12,000 last year, holidaying in the UK is clearly appealing to the nation amid regular talks of a downturning economy.
Figures for the first half of 2008 also show that the trend is not showing any signs of reversing, with 6,500 caravans sold before the end of June.
Motorhomes are of course ideal for those hoping to get away from it all while also preserving cash, and so the credit crunch has been good to the industry.
For those thinking about jumping on the bandwagon however, motorhome insurance must be taken into account when purchasing a caravan or motorhome.
Alongside the temptation to pick up a caravan and drive it off the forecourt comes the risk of an accident costs going straight to your wallet, and so caravan insurance must be purchased before you think about driving your new wheels.
