Motorhome stolen hours after holiday
Posted on August 20th 2008
A Ford Transit motorhome was stolen from outside a family home, it has been confirmed, with thieves not only disappearing with the mobile home but also valuables inside.
The motorhome was taken from near the family's Whitby home just one day after the family returned from their holiday, adding to the devastation.
Also because of the timing, the motorhome still contained many valuable goods used on holiday, as the family had not finished packing when the theft took place.
PC Matt Gorman, from the West Oxfordshire Priority Crime Team, told the Oxford Mail: "They hadn't even had time to unpack properly and many of their possessions were stolen, including a portable TV, a barbecue and a DAB digital radio."
The theft will remind many motorhome owners to check their motorhome insurance, as not only can replacing a motorhome set you back tens of thousands of pounds but the contents within your holiday home may well amount to serious financial damage if stolen.
