Mobile homes to go eco-friendly
Posted on September 15th 2008
Despite caravanning already being an environmentally-friendly alternative to flying, the new breed of caravans and motorhomes are set to get even greener yet.
Many new models arranged to be displayed at the Caravan and Motorhome Show, held at Birmingham's NEC Arena from October 14th - 19th, are set to demonstrate new technologies to make running them more eco-friendly.
A range of technologies including solar panels to power a caravan's leisure batteries will be demonstrated, as well as carpet designed to increase insulation, therefore cutting down on the need for electric heating.
As caravans become more technologically equipped, however, their price is also likely to rise.
As such the threat of theft is greater, but caravan insurance can offer caravan owners peace of mind by offering a financial payout to those affected by a theft or even an accident.
A financial payout could help a caravan owner repair a damaged caravan, or even replace it with a new one.
