Mobile homes 'offer spontaneity'
Posted on October 16th 2008
Birmingham is playing host to the International Caravan and Motorhome show this week and as such the Midlands' Sunday Mercury travel editor, Paul Cole, has written about the joys of owning a mobile home.
The spontaneity of being able to holiday wherever and whenever the owner feels like it appears as a significant factor in Mr Cole's decision to own a motorhome.
"Taking a break on a whim is something of a family trait. Some years back we set off from the Midlands determined to have a snowball fight, and ended up in Scotland," Mr Cole wrote.
"Once, when we fancied fish and chips, we ended up in Cleethorpes, watching the rain sweep across the sea. And, let me tell you, they were the tastiest fish and chips on the planet."
While spontaneity is a crucial aspect to an exciting holiday, at least some planning must be done before setting off on an adventure.
