Mobile home to aid writing of Bible
Posted on October 02nd 2008
A mobile home is to play an integral part in a 15,000-mile road trip around the US in order to help a publisher write a new Bible, it has been reported.
The 42ft motorhome will take a crew of publishers to Christians across the country, stopping at churches, events and national landmarks.
Zondervan, the publisher of the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible, is organising the trip to 90 cities in 44 states in order to allow members of the public the unique opportunity to contribute a handwritten verse to its newest version of the Bible.
"The Bible is America's favourite book of all time," said Moe Girkins, president and CEO of Zondervan.
"And because of its accuracy, clarity and literary quality, the NIV has become the most successful Bible translation of all time.
"A completely handwritten version of the NIV Bible by people from all across our country will help America rediscover the Bible in a fresh, new way," Mr Girkins added.
