Mobile home fire causes havoc
Posted on September 22nd 2008
A fire which broke out in a mobile home in Edmonton, Canada, not only destroyed the vehicle but was so fierce that it singed nearby trees and melted the siding of a house, it has been reported.
The owner of the mobile home was driving at the time but stopped when he noticed black smoke coming from the tyres of his vehicle.
Shortly after, however, the vehicle was engulfed in flames and had begun burning even the nearby trees.
Although no-one was injured in the blaze, the destruction to the motorhome and the nearby house will be costly for the owner.
For caravan owners, accidents such as this can occur despite all safety precautions being taken, and so it is important to take out some caravan insurance.
Caravan insurance can offer financial assistance to the owner of a vehicle if it is stolen or damaged by a road traffic accident, or in a case such as this when a fire damages the caravan.
Amanda Ayon and Kat Colwell, who witnessed the incident, told the Edmonton Journal that there were three or four separate explosions in the course of the fire.
