Mobile home employed to tell veterans' story
Posted on September 25th 2008
A London man has finished a tour of the eastern coast of Canada in a mobile home and is already planning a tour of the west coast, it has been reported.
Randy Young is touring in his mobile home to speak to veterans of World War II in an attempt to capture on film the stories of the volunteers who fought in Europe.
Partly inspired by Kitchener veteran Harry Watts, who served in Italy and the Netherlands, Mr Young will spend weeks on the road collecting influential stories to archive for future generations.
"The young people don't know what these guys did for us," Mr Young told the Record.
"Their story is so important. It's all about collecting a little bit of Canadian history, and passing it on to the young people."
Of course, Mr Young isn't the first man to attempt long-distance caravan adventures and he certainly won't be the last.
