Kerry Katona to open caravan park

Former Atomic Kitten Kerry Katona, who last month narrowly avoided bankruptcy after being given until August to repay £157,000 to the tax man, is to open a caravan park, it has been revealed.

The park, to be sited on the Orkney Islands, is a joint venture with her husband Mark Croft, and will see the pair provide campsite entertainment in an attempt to entice holidaymakers.

Katona is hopeful that the Butlins-style set-up will be successful enough to help pay off some of her debts.

"Kerry is a born entertainer and she plans to give this her all. The two of them have talked about the possibility of putting on light entertainment shows and greeting campers with Hi-De-Hi! style announcements," a source told the Sun newspaper.

"They think the place could be a roaring success and help ease their money worries."

Katona recently gave birth to a son, Max, and also has three daughters - Heidi Elizabeth, Molly Marie and Lilly-Sue.

The former winner of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! has also been married to singer Brian McFadden, and exchanged vows with taxi driver Croft in February 2007.
