Jail term for caravan thief
An Oxford man has been jailed for over two years for the theft of a caravan, which saw him drive on for five miles after tyres were burst by a stinger.
Police apprehended the dangerous driver not far from the entrance to the M40.
PC Pete Billingham, who was in the pursuit car, told the Oxford Mail: "I just could not believe what I was seeing. I couldn't believe he was not going to stop.
"We were worried it was going to get to the motorway junction and drive on to the wrong carriageway. The idea of a car driving on its wheels with sparks flying and the caravan on fire driving towards oncoming traffic was a nightmare."
The caravan had been stolen from a driveway in Goring in July.
