International 684 scoops top prize for Airstream

The thirteenth Caravan Club Caravan Design Awards announced its results at the NEC on February 23rd 2008, with 58 caravans being submitted for judging in a number of categories.

It was Airstreams international 684 that took the Best Caravan 2008 award, with the judges scoring it highly in a number of areas including sitting comfort, switched, wiring, security, warranty arrangements and safety to name a few. This was the class everyone wanted to win ‘any caravan over £15,000’ with 15 entries put forward, with the major manufactures putting up their best models for scrutiny.

The latest success for Airstream follows on from the Best Import Award by the German ‘Caravan Magazin’ earlier this year.

The Marketing Director of Airstream Europe, Stuart Hicks, who collected the Award commented that, “It was a very proud night for all connected with Airstream and it is a measure of how special these iconic and unique vehicles are. It has taken a great deal of effort to redesign the US Airstream to be fully compliant with the UK and European regulations and to meet the need of both European customers and their tow vehicles. We are delighted with the awards.”
