Haven Holiday's tribute to charity founder
One family caravan holiday to represent each year of a charity founder's life has been donated by Haven Holidays.
Patrick Laurance, and his wife Joan, established the Family Holiday Association (FHA) in 1975 to provide disadvantaged families with the chance to get away for a break.
Naomi Woodstock, Haven's public relations manager, said: "We have always been proud of our association with the FHA and were very sad to hear of Pat's death.
"In remembrance of him and recognition of his outstanding achievements and remarkable career, we would like to extend our partnership with the FHA by offering an additional 88 free holidays this year - one for each year of Pat's life.
"We hope that 88 families will be able to enjoy a special treat on one of our holidays as a testament to all that Pat achieved during his lifetime," she added.
The FHA has grown from offering 17 families assistance in its first year to offering holidays to over 1,600 families last year.
