New static caravan owners report discovering lifestyle benefits from their purchase.
The results of the annual static caravan ownership survey showed that the owners described taking more breaks with friends and family.
Little packing needed since items can be stored at the static home, neighbourliness was evident with a sense of friendship and community with other owners, and children enjoyed the caravans.
They advised prospective owners to research the location, pitch and facilities on the site before making a purchase, as well as considering the motoring distance between the static home and their own home.
A spokesperson said: "Many people enjoy huge benefits from static caravan ownership whilst subletting to subsidise the cost of ownership.
"We urge prospective customers to complete as much research as possible prior to purchase to ensure that they make the right long term decision.
"As with any capital purchase, such as a new car, if you make the wrong choice and wish to sell a short time after purchase, depreciation becomes a major factor."
The survey found that prices of new sited vans can range from £15,000 to well over £100,000.
