Handbag stolen from caravan

Posted on September 02nd 2008

A caravan owner had a nasty shock when a handbag was stolen from their caravan, despite being asleep inside at the time.

The mobile home was in Skegness at the time, when at 4.30 on Saturday morning a thief broke the caravan's window with a slab of concrete, before grabbing the handbag.

Such thefts are not too common among caravans, but can be financially devastating to the owner of vehicles, not just because of the loss of items but the cost of repairing the caravan itself.

A broken window for instance can set a caravan owner back hundreds of pounds, and damaged goods inside the caravan itself could reach thousands.

Caravan insurance however, offers owners financial peace of mind from such attacks, and ensures that in the event of a theft - or even an accident such as a crash or a fire - the owner can be reimbursed for some or all of the cost of repairs.

Caravans today are becoming more and more upmarket, as the notion of shabby caravans is being dispelled.
