Caravan and mobile home owners, who enjoy exploring the local area close to their camping pitch, may well be interested in a new mobile phone initiative.

The Good Pub Guide, which shows pubs that offer ales and catering excellence, can use mobile phone signals to send the nearest locations, and maps, to get to a good meal, good drink and an enjoyable ambience.

By texting 'goodpub' to 87080, which costs 50p to set up, the mobile phone owner has 50 'nearme' credits to use to browse the wap pages showing directions, suggestions and even contact details to book a meal.

Currently the service is available to users of Orange, Vodafone, T-Mobile and O2 networks. 3 users have a reduced service available.
