Family tour extends to Europe
The Weller family, originally from Oxford, who have converted a double-decker bus to become a mobile home, are now touring the UK before departing for Europe at the end of November 2007.
They commenced their journey from the NEC Motorhomes and Caravan show earlier this year.
The family, including three children who are being home-educated, are describing their adventures on a 'blog' entitled usonabus.com. They will also be featured in national magazines throughout 2008.
A reporter from the local paper, the Hastings Observer, met Brian Weller at their latest stop in St Leonards on Sea. He said: " We've been overwhelmed by the welcome we have had.
"We've never had such a social life."
Alex Weller, aged 12, added: "On the bus we get to go to different places, and there's always new things to do. I've been doing fishing and longlining, because I like fishing and animals."
Brian and Dawn Weller both had to take an LGV test, despite the bus being a vintage vehicle which would normally be covered by an ordinary licence.
