Eco-friendly production to lend itself to caravan manufacture
Posted on August 19th 2008
Caravan holidays are already seen as a green alternative to flying abroad, but are now set to become even greener in the near future, if one Hull manufacturing company has its way.
Representatives from RD Plastic Moulding, which makes vacuum-formed plastic components for the caravan and motorhome industry, have recently returned from a fact-finding mission in the Italian city of Bologna, where they have been investigating the possibilities of green manufacturing.
Unit manager Sue Irwin said of the trip: "We are committed to growing our caravan sector business and determined to stay at the forefront of caravan bathroom design.
"Keeping abreast of the latest developments, materials and greener production processes is fundamental to achieving such objectives."
Creating greener caravans and motorhomes could add value to the models and entice far more buyers into the market, but buyers of their first vehicle must be aware that they should also be looking at caravan insurance.
