Crowded House branching out to caravan
The renowned Australian rock band Crowded House is to use a caravan as part of its upcoming worldwide tour, according to Entertainment Technology Press.
Formed in 1986 in Melbourne, Australia by lead singer and songwriter Neil Finn, the band produced famous hits such as Always Take The Weather With You, Don't Dream It's Over and Better Be Home Soon.
They achieved worldwide success with their hits, going on numerous tours and releasing several albums. However, by 1996, Finn decided to dissolve the band and go it alone as a solo artist.
Earlier this year, the band decided to reform, release a new album and go on a global music tour, starting in Belfast in November.
Speaking with Entertainment Technology Press, the band's lighting director Glen Johnson revealed that the band is to use an 18-foot long caravan as part of their encore.
Referring to the props, Mr Johnson said: "All of this happens around a set where you never know what is next, which makes this one of the most enjoyable tours I have been on."
The band's fondness for caravans perhaps revealed itself earlier, with the song Mansion in the Slums, where the lyrics ran: "I'd much rather have a caravan in the hills / than a mansion in the slums."
