Criminal kids highlight caravan risk

Children aged as young as ten are believed to be responsible for criminal damage to caravans and static homes in East Lothian.

According to the Daily Record newspaper, four children, three aged ten and one aged 12, have been reported to the Children's Reporter.

This follows an incident at Belhaven Bay Caravan Park in which five static homes were completely destroyed and 12 more were badly damaged.

The gang is thought to have stolen a mechanical digger and taken it on a rampage through the site.

The incident comes as a reminder to caravan owners of the need to properly insure their holiday homes.

Caravans and static homes are often targeted by vandals, especially out of season when many sites are deserted.ADNFCR-1193-ID-18462577-ADNFCR
