Concerns over park expansion beyond the licensed numbers
Residents of the Ivy House Park, in Somerset, have been watching Berkeley Homes' winter maintenance with some concerns.
They have now contacted Taunton Deane Council to clarify a rumour that the number of pitches is about to be increased to 75, as three more hard standings have appeared.
Pat Batstone, a tenant at the park, told a reporter from the Somerset Gazette: "One of the concrete slabs has gone down next to my home. They have already done the drains, the electricity and the wiring. I just cannot think how they can carry on doing this."
A spokesman at Taunton Deane Council is reported as saying: "We are currently confirming the number of caravans on the site and investigating allegations that more are due to be installed.
"We are also endeavouring to work with the site owner and residents to resolve the matter."
The council has written to the park owner to remind them that the maximum number of homes allowed on the site is 60.
