Caravan upturned as tornados blaze through England
A number of tornados hit several parts of England yesterday as unusual weather stormed through the country.
In particular, the strong winds hit several places across the centre and south of England, damaging houses and uprooting trees in their wake.
The 70 miles per hour storms were so strong that a caravan was even overturned in Farnborough.
According to the Times, 73-year-old Brian Denton found his caravan parked on its roof after the powerful winds had passed by.
The Association of British Insurers issued a statement, with director general Nick Starling saying: "While tornados in the UK are thankfully very rare, unexpected extreme weather incidents like this are exactly what insurance is here for.
"Insurers will be doing everything possible to help policyholders who have suffered damage, and will be dealing with all claims as quickly as they can."
