Caravan subject to arson attack
Posted on October 23rd 2008
A retired couple were shocked to find their caravan set alight in the early hours of Saturday (October 18th) morning, it has been reported.
The Buckinghamshire Free Press explains that the couple woke shortly after 02:00 BST to find that flames from the blaze were reaching their bedroom window.
Mr Murrell, 64, told the newspaper: "We were woken by the orange flames leaping up outside our bedroom window. We leapt out of bed and it was immediately obvious the caravan was on fire.
"It's terrifying what keeps going through our minds. The caravan could have had people sleeping in it overnight. The police would probably be looking at a murder investigation. It's unlikely anyone would have got out of it. It could have gone from sheer mindlessness to something very sinister and severe."
No matter how safe a driver one might be, nothing can stop a random attack such as this.
