Caravan park staff put on charity fun days

Posted on September 09th 2008

Staff at a caravan park in Cheshire raised more than £1,000 for cancer patients over the last bank holiday weekend, it has been revealed.

The two-day event was held by Lakeside Caravan Park in Stock Hill in aid of the Christie Hospital and St Luke's Hospice, the Winsford Guardian reports, and featured a bouncy castle, stalls, games and a tug-of-war competition.

Some of the caravan park staff members also shaved off their hair in aid of the cause.

"Everyone at the park would like to thank all those who attended and helped us raise so much," caravan park worker Tracy Mills told the newspaper.

In all, £1,140 was raised by the park for the Christie Hospital and St Luke's Hospice.

The latter provides compassionate care for people suffering from life-threatening illnesses, while the former is one of the leading cancer centres in Europe.
