Caravan exhibition opens in Birmingham
Posted on October 30th 2008
The International Caravan and Motorhome Show 2008 has opened at Birmingham's NEC this week to delighted crowds.
A record attendance is expected this year as 70,000 guests and shoppers are expected to head to the Midlands to take a peek at the latest caravan advancements making waves.
Visit Britain also has high hopes for the exhibition though, as the tourism agency predicts that it is not the older generation but 35 to 44-year-olds who now caravan more than any other age group.
New mobile home sales have trebled in the past decade as Brits have wised up to the benefits of owning their own caravan.
The Times' Ginny McGrath commented on one remarkable motorhome which can fit a Smart Car inside, for use when you arrive at the campsite - bound to impress any buyer.
