Bigger is not better
Motorists are choosing smaller, more environmentally-friendly cars, a used car survey had found.
Sales of cars described as superminis have overtaken sales of small family-sized vehicles, during the first half of 2007.
Kirk Fletcher, managing director of Experian's automotive division, says: "With growing levels of personal debt, higher running costs, increasing tax and pressures to reduce our impact on the environment, the benefits of a smaller car are becoming more apparent to car buyers."
Environmentally aware caravan and motor home owners have forged the way by holidaying in the UK, rather than flying to destinations abroad, and now commuters appear to be following suit.
