Almost 2m caravaners expected this year

The National Caravan Council has revealed that almost two million Brits go caravanning every year, and that there are currently half a million touring caravans in use throughout the country.

The figures suggest that it is mainly families that go caravanning then, and rather than a decline in popularity in the face of the rise of budget airlines, pitch bookings have been enjoying a ten per cent rise this year, suggesting the true value holiday is a caravan holiday.

However, those looking to take up caravanning this year must recognise that there are dangers associated with driving a caravan that need to be insured against, as well as potential accidents that could cause damage when the motor home is stationery.

Caravan insurance however can be found quickly and cheaply, and will cover accidents such as fire, damage or theft.

While ultimately being so safe that caravanning is a favourite for family holidays, yesterday for instance, saw a park in Wales suffer from a blaze which destroyed eight motor homes.

Although nobody was injured, the case remains that it is essential for motor home insurance to be paid for before embarking on a journey.
