Accident-prone Friday
Statistically, last Friday was the worst date of the year for motor insurers.
Traditionally, the most dangerous day to be on the road is a Friday, but during the past 15 years, Admiral insurance has also noticed more claims than most are dated January 18th.
"It's not surprising to see that the worst day of the week for accidents is a Friday as people are tired after a long week at work and can easily get caught up thinking about their weekend plans instead of the road ahead," explains Admiral managing director, Sue Longthorn.
"It makes sense that the days where weve seen the least accidents are the 29th February, and the 25th and 26th December, as this is when least people are driving. However, this year there is a 29th February, and it's on a Friday, so the number of accidents might jump up sharply."
With the Met Office issuing warnings of storms and high winds, caravan owners may well be best off planning their next break from the comfort of their own armchairs.
